How disappointing! We published our anthology of poems and short stories – ‘A Window into Eastwood Writers’ Group’ on Amazon, both as a paperback and also on Kindle, at the beginning of December, hoping it would be something in which lovers of anthologies would be interested. Guess what? Not a single copy has been bought, apart from those the writers group have had themselves.
The age-old problem – how do we get readers to find out about it?

There are so many books on marketing. It’s like a you tube video. Sometimes they go viral, but what makes them do that? A lot of people are trying to figure this one out but I get the feeling it’s not easy and probably requires a massive amount of work, skill and time.

I’m not worried about it. We’ve sold some of the ones the group had (I just sold another two so will need replacements when we meet again 🙂 ) and I think local sales might be more the thing. It does take some effort to plug a book on Amazon, there are things we could try, but given most of us are just happy to see our work in print and have a nice gift for friends and families this Christmas I think we have to call it a success 🙂
That competition might generate some interest too, if we got placed at all!

I agree it’s a success but I hoped we would sell some on Amazon as well. I have ordered 20 more copies, so fingers crossed.
